Day 5 – The veil was torn
“And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,” Matthew 27:50-51 NKJV
They took our King Jesus to Golgotha. After enduring so much pain with the lashings, He had to carry His cross, and have nails pierced into His hands and feet. Our King was hanging on that cross, on that mountain of death. Looking down upon those that were insulting Him, He still had love and mercy and said to God to forgive them for they did not know what they were doing.
On that mountain were two robbers on their crosses too. One of them said to Jesus, remember me! Jesus replied to him that today he would be in paradise with Him.
Then…. before Jesus gave up His last breath, He said… It is finished. Death thought it was over! Death thought it had won the battle. But all of a sudden there was an earthquake, and the skies darkened. And the veil was torn.
The way to God the Father had been opened! Just like God opened the sea for His people to walk right through it, He tore the veil and said no more. Nothing separates us from His presence, nothing holds us back from entering His throne room.
Hallelujah! Yes, Jesus, it was finished. It was done. You did it all for me. I was the same as that robber, but I called out to Jesus and He saved me.
He is here to save you today. Jesus did not endure this painful event in His life for nothing. He can and is able to save you no matter what you might be facing. He is here to give you rest. He is here to give you access to God the Father.
Prayer: Abba Father thank you that you loved us so much, that You gave your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ for us so that we can have eternal life with you. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
