Day 92 – Jesus serves the multitude
Study Luke 9:11
“But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.” Luke 9:11
Jesus and His disciples sought solitude in Bethsaida, but the seeking crowds soon tracked them down. Instead of turning them away or showing frustration at the interruption, Jesus welcomed them with open arms. He served the needy multitudes in three profound ways: with His accepting attitude, His life-giving teaching on the kingdom of God, and His supernatural healing power.
He did not just offer spiritual platitudes, nor did He ignore their physical suffering. Jesus looked upon the broken crowd with deep compassion, ministering to the whole person – body, mind, and soul. His heart is always open to those who earnestly seek Him.
Pray with me: Lord Jesus, thank You for never turning me away when I come to You in my need. Teach me to look upon the weary around me with Your boundless compassion and readiness to serve. Amen. ©
