Day 6 – Weak moments

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
My children have witnessed me at my best and worst. Happiest and saddest. Bravest and fearful. Strongest and weakest. I know we all try to be “Super Mom” and sometimes hide our emotions and struggles from them, so they do not need to worry.
But children, dear mommy, have this build-in sense to instinctively know when you are not at your best. (Just like you know something is wrong with them). No mother ever wants their children to see them at their weakest… But it is in these moments when we hold on to Jesus Christ with the last strength we can muster, that they learn it is okay to be weak because Jesus is our strength. You do not have to be “Super Mom”, but you can be “Jesus Mom”!
I am not proud of my weak moments (nor are any of us), but my children have learned the valuable lesson of Philippians 4:13 with me, and with assurance, I know they will turn to Jesus in their weakest moments. My prayer is that our children will cultivate such a beautiful relationship with Jesus Christ so they can turn to him without any hesitation to be their strength. I pray they will always have the confidence in Jesus to do new and scary things and reach the full potential of their calling in Christ.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the moments where I was weak so my children could learn that Christ is our strength. Help me to show my children how to rely on Your strength and not their own and to walk with authority and assurance in Christ even in their weaker moments. Thank You for never leaving me where I fell and for always picking me up, dusting me off, and helping me to be the best “Jesus Mom” I can be. Amen.
