Day 7 – Whoever says and does not doubt, but believes
Mark 11:22-24 “Have faith in God … whoever says … and does not doubt … but believes… it will be done for him … For this reason, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that it is granted to you, and you will get it.”
Having faith not only involves praying and believing in one’s heart that the answer will come, but it also involves speaking. What are we supposed to say? Because when faith is needed, we usually don’t yet perceive the outcome in the natural. What kind of words should I be speaking without lying about the current problem?
In this Scripture, Jesus uses a mountain as a metaphor for a problem. He says that we should speak to it. We ought to speak words of truth, God’s words, His promises. What does God think about this crisis? If God hasn’t lost hope for me, then why should I give up? God looks beyond the problem to the breakthrough, and in His Word, He has given us the means to do the same. His promises are guaranteed. The Word is a sword in our mouth. It has the power to break strongholds and pull down false imaginations and lies of the enemy. It emanates with life, which, when spoken, brings healing, life, deliverance, restoration, hope, peace, or whatever the need. When the truth is spoken, the darkness must flee from the light. This is faith in action.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Your Word is the truth. You spoke the earth and the heavens into existence while there was no form, only chaos and darkness. You did not speak what You saw, but what You intended to see. And the universe with everything in it came into being. Thank you for giving me the same powerful words, Your promises to speak so that I can change the course of my life. Amen.
