Day 8 – How to speak to the mountain
Ephesians 6:17 “… the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.”
“Let there be light,” were the words that God spoke when there was only chaos and darkness. Scripture says: “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God so that what we see were not made out of things which are visible.” To confirm this: “… God who gives life to the dead and speaks of the non-existent things that He promised as if they already existed.” (Romans 4:17)
Note these key phrases:
• Let there be …
• Not made out of things that were visible …
• Speaks as if they already existed …
When God looks at darkness and sickness and lack and death, He sees the potential of light and wellness and abundance and life! He has spoken them into being and placed them in the promises for us to embrace as our own. What we want to see, can and should be spoken into existence – as long as it is aligned with God’s will and His Word.
Let’s find out what God says about our circumstances, find the promises pertaining to them, and speak His life over our families and finances and lives, instead of confirming what we perceive with our natural eyes.
Prayer: Creator God, You are the Author and Finisher of my faith. An author uses words to create, and so did You when You spoke the worlds into existence at the beginning of creation. Your words are life and light and they are written in the Bible for me to take as my own. Please remind me to speak words of faith and hope instead of words of despondency and death. Amen.
