Listen – Day 7

Rhythm of hearing
“Inclined your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David” Isaiah 55:3
There is a rhythm when you are in sync with God’s voice. At times it’s a slow dance, a pace that isn’t hurried and you can hear God more clearly. When you’ve spent time with God in this slow dance and know His voice within this slow rhythm, you’ll hear His voice in the rhythm of work, in the rhythm of serving. You cannot accomplish any of these without believing that you hear God’s voice. With confidence. In everything you do, God is constantly speaking. His presence is the language of your heart you’re created to hear.
Don’t worry about what it looks like exactly, to spend time with God – trying to figure out the “right” way to listen. Start with knowing God is with you and He is speaking to you. Just listen.
Then there are times that the slow rhythm turns to a faster run and you need to know His voice in the fast track decisions you need to make. The immediate “yes/no” decisions. Do you know how to listen for God’s voice in the mayhem?
Prayer: Father, thank You that my listening to Your voice can be a slow dance where I can get to know your voice, even if it’s just whispered into my soul. Allow me to flow in a rhythm of listening to Your voice. Amen. ©
