A Ruth Relationship – Day 25
Witnessed Relationship
“Then Boaz called ten leaders from the town and asked them to sit as witnesses. And Boaz said to the family redeemer, ‘You know Naomi, who came back from Moab. She is selling the land that belonged to our relative Elimelech. I thought I should speak to you about it so that you can redeem it if you wish. If you want the land, then buy it here in the presence of these witnesses. But if you don’t want it, let me know right away, because I am next in line to redeem it after you. The man replied, ‘Alright, I’ll redeem it.” Ruth 3:2-4
Throughout the Word, we read a lot about witnesses. We, as God’s children, are also called to be witnesses. There was not one transaction or important conversation recorded without a witness. The account of Jesus’s life and the resurrection was written because of witnesses. Sin is done in the dark, unseen, and unknown. But the Truth of God is Light and will be witnessed by the world.
Boaz acted in a Godly manner when calling witnesses to discuss the redemption of Ruth. When God acts on your behalf, there will always be witnesses. Sometimes you don’t even know of them, but they are there, and no one can contradict the testimonies of witnesses.
In the movie, the Case for Christ, Lee Strobel an atheist journalist and investigative reporter for the Chicago Tribune started to gather evidence that proves that the resurrection of Jesus did not happen. All this to dissuade his wife, Leslie, that God does not exist. Through his journey, and from studying witness events and many factual interviews later, Lee realised he cannot argue the witness evidence and takes the leap of faith and accepted Jesus. The witnesses surrounding the cross that day, already witnessed your redemption when Jesus gave His spirit up.
Ruth Relationship Advice: The Truth of God is Light and will be witnessed by the world.
Prayer: Father, thank You that my redemption through Jesus Christ was already witnessed so long ago. I am grateful for my redemption and I am a witness of Your Glory in my life and the works I see in the lives of others. Amen.
