A Ruth Relationship – Day 8
You are daughter
“Boaz went over and said to Ruth, ‘Listen, my daughter. Stay right here with us when you gather grain; don’t go to any other fields. Stay right behind the young women working in my field.” Ruth 2:8
Boaz greeted Ruth with words of endearment. The Hebrew word for daughter is “bath” and one of i’s meanings is ‘apple of the eye’. By saying she should stay in his field, he offered her his protection. Also, he gave her the order to stay behind the young women working in his field, offering her female companionship and also an opportunity to learn from them.To God our Father, we are His daughters. The apple of His eye. He wants us to stay in His field where we are protected and in His will. He puts women in our lives from which we can learn and enjoy their company as sisters in Christ. When we (God’s daughters) submit to God (Listen, my daughter), stay in His field (stay in His will), work amongst others (young women working) we are walking in His protection. All we need to do, the only thing our Father requires from us is to… Listen!
Ruth Relationship Advice: God only wants the best for you, the apple of His eye.
Prayer: Father, thank You that I am the apple of Your eye and that You only want the best for me in my spiritual journey to grow closer to You in our relationship. Thank You for putting other women in my life I can follow and learn from to be ready for the tasks You have for me. Amen.
