Day 11 – Living water

Living water (Irrigation)

“But whoever drinks the water that I give him will never be thirsty again. But the water that I give him will become in him a spring of water [satisfying his thirst for God] welling up [continually flowing, bubbling within him] to eternal life.” John 4:14 (Amp)

The seed of God (the word) can only produce a harvest if we allow the living water of Jesus to saturate every part of our souls. When we truly accept Jesus Christ as our saviour and believe in the power of the word, we should never thirst for anything else.

Our faith and trust in God should become like a spring of water inside of us, satisfying every area of our life and from within living water will flow and manifest on our outer circumstances and situations.

“This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing, they fall away.  The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches, and pleasures, and they do not mature.  But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.” Luke 8:11-15 (NLT)

Today we are reminded to water our seeds with Jesus only, this will keep our souls (soil) in a healthy condition and retain the truth of the word. Let Jesus become the living water especially during your winter season, He wants to come and satisfy every longing and desire in your heart and as you persevere during your hard winter season may you experience Him in a deeper way, becoming the spring of life within you.

“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:38

Prayer: Thank You Jesus for being the living water that flows from within; watering the seed of the word in our hearts. Help us to dig deep into our souls and allow Your Word and power to saturate every part of us while we grow to maturity and bear fruit. Amen
