DAY 1 – PRAYER IN HARD TIMES

Genesis 4:26 ‘To Seth also a son was born, and he called his name Enoch. At that time people began to call upon the name of the Lord.’

This suggests that the birth of Seth’s son marks a new beginning for humanity. It probably refers to public worship, initially within Adam’s own family circle.

A possible reason why they might have needed to begin naming the Lord at this time is that humanity’s relationship with God had grown even more distant. Perhaps they had begun to have other “gods” and so the Lord became just one of many objects of worship.

We are living in hard times, everything is hard and it’s becoming worse. People are haters of God, Churches are empty and fun places are full.  Those that are full are because their leaders preach more for prosperity than holiness. People are not interested in knowing God; they only want what He has to offer in material things. It is high time, in moments like these, we stand for God’s truth, calling upon the name of the Lord. These are the days our prayers are needed, truthfully worshipping God.

PRAYER: We call upon Your name, God – for guidance, true worship, faith, and standing firm on Your Word. We thank You for Your grace, even in broken times like these, where one can shift and lose hope. Thank You for Your love and care for us. Amen.
