Day 24 – You lead me

“And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:24

In utter surrender, David opened his soul completely to God showing how much he cared for holiness in his live and how humble he was recognizing that there could be any unperceived wickedness in himself. When we pray this with a sincere heart, it is something worthy, yet dangerous because it invites painful exposures of what we still need to deal with and sort out in our lives. But this is something every believer should desire.

David ends this magnificent Psalm with a declaration of his destination: the way everlasting. He completely trusted God and through his prayer of holiness in the previous lines gives us guidance of achieving it.

Beloved, have you prayed this prayer yet and are you completely certain there is no wicked ways in you today standing in the way everlasting?

Let’s pray: Father, You are such a magnificent God and Creator of my soul. Humbly I come before You this morning and ask that You will search me and point out any wicked way withing me. Through this process I ask You to lead me in the way everlasting. Thank You for being such a gracious God allowing us to ask for forgiveness and receiving it through the Blood of Jesus. Amen.
