Day 25 – You have heard my prayer

“I took my troubles to the Lord; I cried out to Him, and He answered my prayers.” Psalm 120:1

With the skill only becoming of a great poet, David constructed Psalm 139 in 6 sections:

• The all-knowing God knows me

• The all-present God is with me

• The eternal God created me

• The precious nature of God’s thoughts towards me

• Our longing for righteousness and justice

• A humble prayer to a great God

This creates an outline to mimic into our prayer lives, knowing who God is and giving Him all the praise, worship, and glory deserving only to Him, understanding who you are and that in your sinful humanity reaching and growing towards His holiness, and lastly to surrender to complete submission and repentance to gain the way everlasting.

It doesn’t matter what has happened in your life or what you’ve done, or even what is happening right now, take it to the Lord and cry out to Him and He will answer your prayer. This is not a promise I can make, but a promise written in His Word to stand on.

Beloved, as we worked through this Psalm (and I pray you do so once more) we have gained deep and meaningful understandings dissecting the heart and soul allowing us to grow closer to God and that our spiritual growth deepened to a level where we are content with who we are, how God made us, and how He loves us.

Let’s pray: Father, You are God almighty! Through this study I have learned of Your majesty and my puniness. I have learned that You created me and love me nonetheless. Thank You for Your guidance through this study and for showing me once again that I belong to You and that You love me unconditionally and endlessly. Tie these words of Psalm 139 to my heart and soul and please remind me often of it. Amen.
