Day 11 – Gift of hearing
“𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘩𝘪𝘮. 𝘙𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘢𝘺, “𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘨𝘰,” 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘧𝘵.” 𝘐𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘢𝘩 30:21
According to behavior specialists, nearly 90% of communication does not consist of words. Think about it: I can simply look at my children, and they immediately know what I mean. Body language, tone, and presence all play a vital role in how we communicate. It’s the same when it comes to hearing God. Because we are uniquely created, each of us “hears” Him differently.
Hearing God is a gift given to us as His children. To listen to Him with our spiritual ears. Over time, I’ve identified four types of prophetical hearing that we will explore in the weeks ahead:
• The Gift of Knowing
• The Gift of Feeling
• The Gift of Hearing
• The Gift of Seeing
Each of these gifts is a unique method of hearing God’s voice, His special way of communicating with you.
But here’s the beautiful truth: you may discover that you are 𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘭 in these gifts. God often speaks to us in multiple ways, and He chooses the method that best fits the situation. His heart is always to reach us, to guide us, to comfort us. Our role is simply to listen.
Listening to God should become as instinctive as breathing. It’s not about straining or forcing; it’s about opening your heart, quieting your spirit, and recognizing His voice in the way He uniquely speaks to you.
Pray with me: Father, thank You for teaching me that there is more than one way to hear You. Please open my heart so I can recognize the gift You’ve placed in me, and help me to grow in it so I may listen more clearly to Your voice. Amen. ©
