Day 19 – El Elyon
“And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all.” Genesis 14:20
El Elyon speaks of the supremacy of God. He is above all. The word means the strongest of the strong and the highest of the high. Hinduism and Pantheism religions speak of their deities as a part of the universe. But God is not a part of the universe. He is the transcendent God. He is above all. He is the Highest God.
Colossians 1:16-17 says, “For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him, all things consist.”
Prayer: Father, today I pray Psalm 92:1 “It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High”! Thank You El Elyon for being the Most High! Please guide me today, Holy Spirit, to keep my focus on the El Elyon. Amen.
PS… Reflect today on God as El Elyon. When you have to face a problem today, remember God is El Elyon!!
