Day 2 – Prioritize

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24
Time is money, right? Well, not according to the language of God. Jesus specifically warned us against serving two masters. It’s not necessarily money all the time. It could be family matters, workloads, or any situation taking up your time. This is where prioritizing comes in, to know what you can eliminate and what to prioritize.
I have never been a list-making person, but lately, I found it helpful to get everything taking space in my thoughts out of my head and onto a piece of paper. (I like to think that this has nothing to do with age…). It helps to form a plan of action to help you get whatever it is you need to get through to get unstuck. Most important is to prioritize God.
The Word says to seek Him first, meaning to prioritize your day starting with God. Making time for reading the Bible, meditating on scripture, praying, and worshipping. When we choose to serve our true Master, all the other things keeping us stuck in the mud will become small in comparison to His Greatness and what He does for us.
It does not matter what list I make that day, I choose to prioritize God before anything else. He is the Master I love.
Prayer: Father, thank You for being the Master we love. Teach us to prioritize our day and circumstances by putting You first in everything we do. Help us to get unstuck from anything else keeping us back to spend time with You. You are greater than anything we face therefore we praise Your magnificent and Holy Name. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Amen.
