Day 24 – I am A NEW CREATION

2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

In Revelation 4, it is said that the living creatures never stop saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” Everyone else also gives glory, honor, and thanks to Him who sits on the throne. In Heaven, God is continually glorified because those in Heaven see new aspects of God every time they look at Him.

God is all about new things. He gives us new things on a daily basis, such as a new day and a fresh start. Being born again is a fundamental part of our faith because we are born into a new family – God’s family. Through our faith in Jesus, we become a new creation in Christ. This transformation changes the way we think. We are now encouraged to view others through Jesus’ eyes, rather than making judgments based on worldly or human perspectives. Being a new creation means that we have been transformed in Christ. We now belong to Christ, having been saved by His blood, and are united with Him. As a new creation, we experience a fresh start, where our past mistakes are wiped clean. This also entails establishing a new relationship or fellowship with God through Jesus. As a result of our transformation, we have a new destiny. Previously destined for hell, we are now saved to become citizens of heaven, our eternal home prepared by Jesus Christ. Everything about us is new: our position (Ephesians 2:6), our power (Acts 1:8), and our purpose (Ephesians 2:10).

We walk on air, talk like foreigners, and have a peace no man could understand. Demons flee from us, and light shines through us. Our value increased, and we were unqualified, but now qualified. We are new creations.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for new beginnings and new things in our lives. Open our eyes and heart for the new thing You place in our hearts. You transform us and guide our steps to be a member of Your family and we thank You for Your mercy and grace. Amen.

Love, Marie Swanepoel
