Day 27 – Jehovah Chereb

“Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, The shield of your help and the sword of your majesty! Your enemies shall submit to you, and you shall tread down their high places.” Deuteronomy 33:29

In the same verse we learned of Jehovah Magen, we also learn about Jehovah Chereb (the Lord my Sword). A sword does not only have one function. It’s not just a weapon to either attack or defend. A sword is used to knight someone. To bestow honor and blessing upon them accompanied by a title given by the king.

Not only will Jehovah Chereb defend and attack on your behalf, but God will also bless you and exhalt you to where He needs you. Ephesians 6:17 “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;” God is His own Word and true to His Word, and His Word is our Sword.

Prayer: Father, it is assuring my soul to know that You fight for me and defend me. Thank You for blessing me and honoring me as Your child. Help me to carry the Sword of the Spirit with pride and guide me to use it wisely according to Your will. Amen

PS… Whatever your situation is today, meditate on it and give it to God. Ask Him for scripture and use it as your Sword of the Spirit to cut it off from your life.
