Day 3 – All that is True

“And without faith it is impossible to please God.” Hebrews 11:6
As we continue our journey exploring Philippians 4:8 and unpacking “all that is authentic, real and true”, it is important to remember that all that is true is in our God and only faith pleases Him.
To focus on the truth also means to recognize fearful and anxious thoughts since they oppose faith; they oppose the eternal truth of our Father God.
Our God is a mighty God, unchangeable, unshakable, everlasting. “Our God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly beyond all we can think or imagine”. (Ephesians 3:20). Allowing fearful, doubtful, or anxious thoughts to rule our minds is to focus on the opposite of this timeless and eternal truth.
365 times in the Bible we are told not to “worry” – a reminder for every day of the year! “Do not be anxious about anything, but in prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6
Note here that there is a reward for not being anxious and bringing our concerns to God instead. In verse 7 we read: “And the peace of God, which transcends understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus”.
Prayer: Father in Heaven, thank You that You are faithful and unchanging. You are my rock, my fortress and under Your wing I find refuge. Forgive me for focusing on fearful and anxious thoughts and gently help me to refocus them on You. Guard my heart and mind with Your peace that transcends understanding. In Jesus Name. Amen.
