Day 5 – Meeting the Loving Father
“So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him” Luke 15:20 (AMP)
He is a good, good loving father!
I believe Luke 15:20 is one of the verses in the bible that gives the most beautiful description of God’s character. Just like the father in this parable, God as our Father rejoices when we decide to return home, He meets us on our way with compassion. There is no resentment but excitement, no rejection but acceptance.
The response of the Father is much different from the response we receive in the world, we receive a true treasure when the Father draws near to us and we experience a love that casts out any form of fear. Do not be afraid to repent and return instead be expectant to meet your loving Father on your way home!
“There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love].” 1 John 4:18 (AMP)
Prayer: Father God thank You for meeting us on our way to You. Today we repent of having treasures in the wrong places and for being spiritually dead. Thank You that Your love gives life and abundance. Thank You for being a good, good Father. Amen.
