Day 6 – Isolation
“The Lord will not reject his people; He will not abandon His special possession” Psalm 94:14 NLT
Mountain climbing is not a community event. Your mountain is yours to climb, alone. I know what it feels like amid the climb and feeling totally alone to a degree of isolation. Even asking for prayer feels like it is not working. People cannot put you at the peak of the mountain, but they can support you to reach your spiritual destination.
There are multiple promise verses where God assures us that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Today’s verse is one of those “favorites” in my arsenal when I feel isolated. Not just does God promise that He will never abandon me (His special possession), but He will not reject me. You might feel rejected by the world in times of isolation, but never by our Father.
There is safety in isolation. It was in those moments I found where I belong and to Whom I belong. It is where I found surrender and deep trust in God. He taught me to – instead of making my worries public – bring them to Him in our secret place where all my focus is on Him. It’s where I found joy, peace, my identity in Him, and strength that I never thought to have. Because in a season of isolation, it is only you and God.
Whilst climbing your mountain, cherish the moments of isolation and allow it to be a place of safety, perspective, and clarity. A place where your relationship with God reaches a higher intimacy, rooting your faith deeply in His love.
Prayer: Father, I learned that climbing my mountain is a solitary adventure and the closer I move to You, the closer I move to Your heart for me. The world might reject me and I may feel isolated at times, but I know I am Your special possession too and I hold on to the promises of Your Word. Father, I ask that you will teach my friends reading this the importance of isolation and their relationship with You. Amen.
