Day 9 – Jehovah Shalom
“Then the Lord said to him, “Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.” So Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and called it The Lord-Is-Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.” Judges 6:23-24
The Lord greeted Gideon in peace, so he built an altar and named it “The LORD is Peace”. You have probably heard the blessing “Shalom” meaning peace. More importantly, it means the Lord, our peace. Where does the Shepherd lead His sheep? Psalm 23:2 “He leads me beside the still waters; He makes me lie down in green pastures”. When your heart is content, you are at peace. And where does that contentment come from? The grace of God. There’s no man more discontent than one who is not experiencing the amazing grace and peace of God. Only in Jesus, will you find security, sufficiency, serenity, and unexplainable peace.
Prayer: Father, today I pray and ask to experience Your Peace throughout my day, my life, and any circumstances I may face today. I want to know Your peace in my life Lord, my soul longs to experience it. Lead me to the still pastures You have prepared for me. Amen.
PS… Be still today and ask God to be Jehovah Shalom and to surround you with His peace. May you have God’s peace in all the circumstances of your life. Shalom.
