Dear Thoughts… Day 5
I don’t have the time
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10 NKJV
Time. For some of us there’s too much of it, for others too little. When the though of we do not have the time for something creeps in, it grows and soon enough turns to a negative thought. Allowing us to think that we do not have time for others and for God. In the business of my life, I realised that this thought infiltrated my time with God.
“I do not have time to read my Bible today.” “I have this enormous “to do list” and “I need to get here and there”. This “time thought” rushed me into a hastiness. Pushing me further and further from becoming still before God. Instead of making Him priority, I was trying to beat the clock of my own thoughts.
Being busy does not need to be a source of stress or a negative thought. It only becomes negative when you start working and thinking against what God expects from you instead of using the time – He gave you – to do what you need to do. Remember that, in 99% of cases, your commitments are yours to command. Own your calendar by becoming still before God and to give Him time first.
The silencing of our thoughts is to seek Him in the negative thought. Becoming still is His exaltation.
Dear Thoughts… I am not rushing through my Bible study and prayer time with God. I choose to be still in front of Him to exalt Him above my thoughts, life and everything I need to do. I believe that God will give me sufficient time to do what He expects of me, and I will not be hastened along with the negative thought that I do not have time. I also believe God has provided sufficient time for me to spend with the people who need Him, or who just need some Jesus love.
Prayer: Father, just as much as time ticks everyday the negative thought of there just is not enough of it has rushed me through my precious time with You. Father, I ask your forgiveness in the times I have rushed anything for You. Teach me to manage my time according to Your time. Amen.
