Empowerment

Fast: Breakfast

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere-in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8 (NLT)

There are no words in my vocabulary to explain the feeling of power when the Holy Spirit descends in full force. What I do know is the empowerment the Holy Spirit gives us to freely witness about Jesus and what God did in their lives. It’s by the power of testimony that we empower others by giving them hope in Jesus.

When I testify, the more I talk about Jesus and what He has done in my life, it feels like I’m on fire! (But in a good, electric, exciting, and energetic type of way). Through testifying, we’re not only empowering people with hope and the Word of God, but the Holy Spirit empowers us simultaneously.

Make an active choice to talk to someone about Jesus today. Be His witness of what He has done in Your life and ask the Holy Spirit to empower you and the person with hope and love.

Prayer: Father, thank You for the power of the Holy Spirit and the empowerment it gives to people to whom we testify the Name above all names, Jesus Christ. Give me the courage and divine opportunity to be a witness today for You. Amen.
