Search me

Fast: Dinner

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” Psalm 139:23

We should ask God to search our hearts as many times we are searching for our keys. (In my case it’s frequently!) God is the only one who knows your heart, and by asking Him to search our hearts we allow Him to lovingly show us the sin we need to repent and the areas in our lives we need to work on for the Fruit of the Spirit to flourish. We become blind to our own shortcomings. Wouldn’t you want your loving Father to show it to you rather than someone else?

Be honest with God and yourself and allow Him to search your heart during this fast.

Prayer: Father, search me and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Please show me my sin for repentance and the areas in my life I can work on to be a better follower of Christ Jesus. Amen.
