Listen – Day 12

How we hear
“And after the earthquake, there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire, there was the sound of a gentle whisper” 1 Kings 19:12
Radio & television stations transmit twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. But we only hear it when we turn on a receiver (radio or television). Failure to hear the signal doesn’t mean the station isn’t transmitting. Likewise, God is constantly transmitting His voice to His children. Sometimes as a roar and other times as a gentle whisper. Most of us are turned on, but not tuned in and all we hear is the ggggggg of white noise.
So, we need to fix our receivers. Learning to clearly distinguish God’s voice (through your unique way) is invaluable. Instead of going through life blindly, we can have the wisdom of God to guide and protect us. It’s in our stillness (not the business) that we can tune our spiritual ears to hear God. This communication with God is Spirit to spirit, not brain to brain or mouth to ear. (The way we communicate in the physical realm) The Lord speaks to our spirits, not always in words but with thoughts, prophetical visions, and impressions too.
Prayer: Father, I know that You are constantly speaking, and I know that because I am Your child, I do hear your voice. Holy Spirit please help me to tune in my spiritual ears to best hear and understand God in the unique Gift of Hearing You have blessed me with. Amen. ©
