Day 13 – The sword of the Spirit

The Word of God is both defensive and offensive. It corrects lies and confronts darkness. When Jesus Christ was tempted in the wilderness, He responded with Scripture, and this was the way He could keep Himself from sinning, even during unthinkable struggles. Do you know the Word well enough to wield it? Do you know the Word of God in such a way that you can take it like a sword and wield it at the enemy when he come switch his attacks and his deceptions?

The enemy we fight also knows the Word of God very well. Which means he knows how to twist it. The reality is, followers of Jesus should not only discern what is right and wrong, but we should be able to discern what is right and true, from what is π‘Žπ‘™π‘šπ‘œπ‘ π‘‘ true. That is a fine line only the sword of the spirit can cut. So be sure to carry your sword every day.

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for equipping us with the sword of the Spirit. Thank You for giving us Your Word to be able to fight the enemy with it, when we don’t have words that are enough. Amen.
