Day 4 – Kitchen

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Matthew 6:11

My fondest memories are those around the kitchen table where I learned that the home’s heartbeat pulsates from there. I learned so many skills from the women in my life while in the kitchen. Sometimes I was more in the way than helpful, but I was part of the “love ingredient” that went into everything. From every meal prepared, cookie baked, and coffee shared over long conversations.

Praying for the kitchen

Father, thank You for our kitchen – the heart of our home. We pray for Your provision in our home and in our lives. As Jesus taught, we pray for our daily bread (physical and spiritual). Please give us what we need today and nourish our souls as You nourish our bodies. Remind us that from this kitchen, we receive from Your hand what we need today and not to worry about tomorrow. We pray for those in our community and ask that You will provide for them in abundance as You provide for us. Amen.
