“Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbor.” Leviticus 19:15 (KJV)
“Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and everyone that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.” Zachariah 5:3 (KJV)
We hear so many times about weak and helpless people being mistreated by other people, and it is often very clear that the enemy is at work through these individuals. There is no way that you can be alright with mistreating a child or an elderly person that you are working for the good of God. If you bring injustice over the weak and helpless, you will be cursed. The weak and the helpless include all who can not fight for themselves. We are encouraged by the Bible in Isaiah 1:17 to “Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed…”. This will give the curse no cause on your life.
The other interesting curse we read about in Zachariah is stealing. This is also a commandment, but obviously, this sin can lead to a curse. If this sin becomes a habit, it will become a curse. Be sure if this is a problem for you, for instance, if you steal even though you know it is wrong, you ask the Lord to show you where this curse came into your bloodline so that you can repent from the sin and be set free from it.
Prayer: Abba Father, I want to be like you ask us to be in Isaiah 1, I want to seek justice and relieve the oppressed. Please teach me to do well and be righteous. Please guide me to see and discern if there are curses in my bloodline as a cause of these sins. I want to repent from them and be free. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
