Day 9 – Messiah the Christ

“Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah” Mark 8:29 NLT

“Messiah” (or Mashiach) is translated literally to the term “anointed” – to be set apart for God or a divine task. It’s a very significant declaration that Jesus would be the ultimate fulfilment of Old Testament prophecy.

Prior to Jesus in Old Testament times, the role of the high priest within the tabernacle involved spiritual cleansing rituals to enter the holy of holies to present the offer before God. He was set apart for this task. Jesus chose to take the responsibility to step in us our eternal High Priest who was set apart and anointed for the task. With full confidence we can have a relationship with God because of the altogether wonderful holiness of Jesus the Messiah who is our anointed High Priest.

Prayer: Father, I am proud to proclaim today that Jesus is the Messiah! Anointed and set apart for our salvation through a love we can never understand. You, Jesus, are majestic and altogether wonderful. Thank You for being born as one of us to give Your life for all of us. Amen.

Love, Pastor Iriza
