Gift of Hearing

“So the Lord called a third time, and once more Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?” Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy.” 1 Samuel 3:8

This beautiful classic story is one of the traditional stories of a Spiritual Hearer. When Eli realised what was happening, he guided Samuel to activate his gift to hear God. The gift spiritual hearing is a play-by-play gift. You hear and communicate, hear and act, hear and testify. You can pinpoint exact moments of when God spoke to you and how it affected you, someone else or a situation.

Spiritual hearers have a continual journey (like a story) of how God speaks to you – like the story of Samuel – creating a beautiful storyline with God. Onlookers normally think you have a direct line to what the Holy Spirit is saying.

The voice of God is a direct voice into your spirit like suddenly materialising out of the fog and has an instantaneous impact in your life. The more you obey the voice of God the more you will understand and have the anointing to move within it.

Prayer: Father, I thank You for our spiritual ears and that You have gifted spiritual hearers with the beautiful ability to hear Your voice. Lord, I ask that you bless them as they discover, or grow in their gift and that they will pray and say: “Speak Lord, Your servant is listening.” Amen. ©
