Day 9 – Day-to-day Journal

“But you, take courage! Do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded.” 2 Chronicles 15:7

I like to keep a record of things in my journal. What I am busy studying in God’s Word, topics for devotionals, prayers and their answers, to-do lists for the ministry, and important dates like conferences etc. There is a beautiful order to organize your spiritual journey and growth on a day-to-day basis. God is a God of order and to me, it is important to make sure my time and devotion to Him and my work for Him is in order too. Keeping a day-to-day journal helps to improve your memory, reduce stress and depression, recall things with ease, and help you to emotionally process events past and present.

It might sound a little far-fetched, but organizing and journaling about my spiritual growth and important happenings is like a weapon in my arsenal against the enemy. Once I’ve written it down, he cannot steal it or sow seeds of confusion and disorder.

It takes time to get used to penning everything down, and a little courage too – I found it easier to write down my deep thoughts and questions. Do not let your hands get weak and neglect your journaling, and as mentioned in today’s verse, your efforts shall be rewarded.

Prayer: Father, in today’s busy schedules we hardly find time for a little spiritual me time. I pray today that the Holy Spirit would guide us to make time and order our spiritual growth and journey with You. Help us to make our journaling time habitual to focus on what is important to You and the Kingdom. Amen.

Tip: Mark out your week or the next day with spiritual goals you would like to achieve.
