Fasting like Daniel – Day 15
Fill me
Fast: Breakfast
“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and the power that comes from God.” Ephesians 3:18-19 (NLT)
Recently I have a newfound love for gardening. My true love is planting in pretty pots. I soon discovered there’s a lot more to it than just putting a plant in soil in a pot. It’s watering, fertilizing, checking for pests, filling up the soil, putting the plant in the correct location it requires (sunny or shady or a bit of both). But it taught me something about God’s love…
We are constantly being watered (by His Word), fertilized (through worship), check for pests or “sin” (by the Holy Spirit), filled up with soil (listening to sermons and teachings) and put in the correct location. Just as the plants aren’t aware of the love and care I put into them, we’re not always aware of how tenderly our Gardener pours His love into us. We will never understand it fully or fathom the fullness and power of His love. God’s love allows us to grow into a divine relationship with Him.
It is my prayer that during your fast you will experience the love of God and be filled with the fullness of life and the power that comes from God.
Prayer: Father, I will never know the extent of your love. My understanding thereof falls short in my humanity. But I want to thank You for Your unfailing, steadfast love towards me. Filling me with the fullness of life and the power that only comes from You. Amen.
Scripture: Acts Chapters 10-12 & Mark 16:15-16
